At Solynta we are unlocking the True Potential of Potatoes through our hybrid potato breeding technology. We aim to drive sustainable improvements in world food security and farmer’s livelihoods with new hybrid potato varieties, grown from our true potato seeds.

The technologies applied to achieve this use large amounts of data and innovative models for decision-making. As Solynta is further expanding its activities, the quality and scalability of the software must also improve. To expand our Data DevOps Team and to help drive our business, we are looking for a:

Solynta is rapidly taking up new methods to monitor potato plants, and to analyze large amounts of potatoes coming from trial fields. Apart from technical work, scientists’ software developers need coaching and mentoring on implementing scalable processing techniques.

Key activities / responsibilities

As an experienced data engineer, you will work with scientists and software developers to setup the new data sets and let their code and dashboards utilize the data. You will tackle performance bottlenecks, so that processing runs fast and cost efficient. You pro-actively keep up to date with the latest Python/R packages for data engineering, as well as developments on AWS cloud. Embracing a DevOps way of working, you are both result-driven and empathetic, always seeking to grow as a team. You enjoy working on the AWS cloud or are at least keen to get familiar with AWS cloud services.
